Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen.
This opens Control Center. On an iPhone with a Home button, swipe up from the bottom edge instead.
Steps in text
- Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen.
- For a silent recording, tap the Record button. For sound, press and hold it.
- In the panel that opens, tap the Microphone so it turns red.
- Tap Start Recording.
- Done — to stop, tap the red clock in the status bar, then Stop.
