Hold ⊞ Win, tap I — Settings opens.
Or click Start and type 'microphone'. The Win key is bottom-left, between Ctrl and Alt.

- Hold ⊞ Win, tap I — Settings opens.
- Click Privacy & security in the sidebar.
- Scroll to App permissions and click Microphone.
- Turn on Microphone access at the top — this is the master switch for the whole PC.
- The master toggle turns blue — microphone access is now on for the whole PC.
